The German Association of Women Artists (GEDOK) awarded Elianna Renner, member of GEDOK Bremen, with the Dr. Theobald Simon Award 2012.

“To illuminate the cruel and un-elapsed past, to transpose it with subtle interventions into the succinct-mundane and thereby prompting fresh perceptions and considerations, is the peculiar merit of young media artist Elianna Renner”, as it says in the jury’s credentials.

The award is bestowed on one highly skilled GEDOK member every two years. The award presentation was held on January 11th, 2013, at Künstlerforum, Bonn/Germany.

Being stuck in a vehicle with a stranger can be uncomfortable – especially when one person is Jewish and the other is Palestinian.
